Patient InformationKnox County Hospital is a non-profit provider of healthcare for Knox county and the surrounding areas. In cooperation with our excellent Medical Staff, dedicated employees and other local healthcare providers, we offer a complete healthcare delivery system. Knox County Hospital is committed to identifying community health needs and making every effort possible to meet those needs in order to improve the quality of for all residents in our service areas. Our new hospital features 42 acute care hospital beds, (all private and baths), complete outpatient and surgery facilities and a sixteen (16) bed skilled nursing unit. Most importantly the employees here at Knox County Hospital are committed to creating a truly patient focused hospital where the patients and their families will know us as caring, trustworthy and competent.

Non-Discrimination
It is the policy of Knox County Hospital not to discriminate on the basis of disability. Knox County Hospital has adopted an internal grievance procedure providing for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. 794) or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services regulations implementing the Act. Section 504 states, in part, that no otherwise qualified handicapped individual shall, solely by reason of his handicap, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. The Law and Regulations may be examined in the office of Marsha Clark, Patient Advocate/Section 504 Coordinator, 606-546-4175 Ext. 4516, who has been designated to coordinate the efforts of Knox County Hospital to comply with Section 504.
Special Needs Accessibility
Knox County Hospital strives to provide services with access to all persons with special needs. Handicapped parking locations are designated outside all main entrances of the building. Restrooms are available throughout the facility that are equipped for patients and/or visitors with wheelchairs. Office/Department signs are visible throughout the building and are provided in raised lettering and Braille. Several procedures have been implemented at Knox County Hospital to allow effective communication with persons who have limited English proficiency as well as with persons that are deaf, hearing impaired, blind, or visually impaired. Staff at registration areas and the information desk are educated to these policies. Policies are available for review on request. Patient Reporting of Quality of Care and Safety Issues
Knox County Hospital encourages any individual (patient, family members, etc.) who have any concerns regarding patient care, treatment, services and patient safety to contact the administration at Knox County Hospital. The following employees in administration should be contacted at 606-546-4175:

If at any time, the individual feels that Knox County Hospital administration has not addressed and/or resolved their concerns, they are encouraged to contact the Joint Commission. The individual may contact the Joint Commission's office of Quality Monitoring to report any concerns or register complaints about Knox County Hospital by either calling 1-800-994-6610 or emailing complaint@jointcommission.org .
